Departure Details Rental is located at Marker 21 Marina: 36 Miracle Strip Parkway SW, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32548. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before departure time to complete the paperwork and give you a boat check ride/safety briefing. Arrive 1 hour before departure time if you plan to take the test on-site. For any issues, please contact your provider, Funday Watersports, at 850-699-4500.
Boater’s License: A Temporary Florida Boater’s License is recommended and may be required for your activity! All drivers born on or after January 1, 1988, MUST obtain a license. Adults born BEFORE January 1, 1988, may operate a boat or personal watercraft without a Florida Boater License, so long as they have a valid driver’s license. However, in the interest of safety, we recommend that all drivers take the test and familiarize themselves with important boat safety rules. Funday Watersports llc, was the perfect way to spend the day at crab island. The owner was Awsome and his prices were much more reasonable.  I will definitely look him up next time!!! Funday rentals allowed us to have an excellent experience

Well boats are old and it had no stereo the boat was turning off sometimes just make sure you get something is working properly.

Funday watersports was horrible… the seat for the driver was broken number one. The latter was rigged up and the boat was full of sharp barnacles ( i guess thats what u call them) that left our feet cut up as we teied to climb the lraggedy ladder to get back on boat.  Needless to say, we were pissed and in pain and cut our 8 hour trip to about 4 1/2.  I think I deserve a full refund when he would only give me back 150 and I had to argue with him for that..  never again will I use him

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Funday Watersports. I am sorry you feel the boat was not up to your standards, however the weight limitations for my equipment were exceeded by your party and therefore some features were unable to be used correctly and safely. I do apologize about the barnacles, however all boats and saltwater toys will have barnacles on the bottoms at some point. We always recommend water shoes of some type to protect your feet from unseen anchors etc. Most customers do not swim under boats or put their feet on the bottoms of the pontoons... however I did offer the partial refund in hopes to make your day better, as a courtesy. We do appreciate your feedback and hope the rest of your vacation was enjoyable.

AWEFULL SERVICE! When we pulled up, I asked if the 2 men sitting there could help me with a pontoon rental.   They looked at the guy in the next booth and said to him that I was probably a customer of his.   That guy said, no all his boats have already been claimed.   So they turned to me and asked for my name and surely enough I was at the right place.  Then they told us we  had to park our car across the street in the government parking lot.  I told them the ad said there was on-site parking.  They told me to look around at the million dollar boats, which was the reason cars had to be parked off site. They acted as though I didn't know the value of the boats.  Once our car was parked, they told us to get on the boat.  There was no help offered to get the kids or bags onto the boat.  Then one of the two guys who got on the boat with us to go over boat guidelines asked if we had any experience driving boats which we told him yes, we've owned one for many years.  He continue to ask, but really, how much experience do you actually have driving one?  We told him we've been driving boats, including pontoons for 15 years.  He then moved the boat into the open area as though we couldn't have done it ourselves.  He went over how to operate the boat and rules multiple times. Then he told us multiple times that we had to be back before 5, actually 4:30 to be safe.  He also told us to call him on our way back to give him a heads up we were on our way.  In the 15 years we've been to Crab Island and rented from other companies,  we've never been treated this way; never been talked to as though were idiots! We are a group of 40-65 year olds and 2 kids so it's not like we're a bunch of irresponsible teenagers.  On our way back, we called him to let him know.   I thought he wanted a heads up so he could come out and drive the boat in or help us off.   Nope!   We waited out where he left us in the morning for 5 minutes and then decided to park it ourselves.  He was nowhere in sight!  Then the guy from the company next door ran over and help tie up the boat.   Once we were parked and helped ourselves off, the guy shows up making small talk for a tip of course.    My husband really wanted to tip him to avoid the awkwardness but I was against it as he was very demeaning and spoke down to us as though we didn't know what we were doing and only came by once we were done.  He didn't help us on or off, but spent extra time telling us how to operate the boat and how we had to be back at exactly 5 or there would be an extra charge,  both of which we already knew. There are so many good rental companies in this area. Rude! Don't rent from Funday Watersports!!

Most of the other places we have rented pontoons from have a crew of people to help load and unload the boat.  This place had one guy.  And we've never rented a boat with holes in the sides and rips in the seats or a damaged ladder, like this boat had.  Not all of the radio speakers were working.  The rental info said a cooler of ice would be provided but we did not get that.  The parking was across the street.  I thought we were renting again from the last place we rented from but it was not.

The check in process went fine. The drawback is they rent space from the marina so there’s no parking on site. You can unload and load in the lot but have to park across Rt 98. The pontoon itself was in rough condition. However the motor was new, which is important, and the Bluetooth worked great. The day we were there it appeared only two ppl were working so perhaps a little hectic but they handled it well. We were given basic boating instructions, where everything was located on the boat, and important tips on where No Wake Zones were. Overall it was a pleasurable experience.

Great experience!  Booked in advance by calling the reservation telephone number.  The girl on the phone was informative and patient.  I was sent a confirmation email and text.  Upon arrival I was met at the parking lot and check-in was a breeze.  Since everything was done in advance, we got on the boat right away.  Boat was clean and ready to go.  After a quick tutorial, we were on the water!  At the end of the day, return was just as quick and easy.  GO LIME PONTOONS!

Boat was great, staff at tge check in was great, but tgat part is a bottleneck. Needed more staff to pull it off efficiently. I was suppose to get an email to fill out waivers before I got there, but never did. That took an extra 15 minutes. Then there was a strange way to accept or decline insurance. Very confusing.

Fun adventure.

We arrived to FWB one day after Helene and we so grateful that the entire island was spared..and also so welcoming. We weren't able to swim bc the flags so I called crabisland.com. Chris Sehman came through in a clutch. He got us on a boat that was right across the street from our hotel, checked the tide forecast, and just guided us in all the right directions. 

The boat rental itself was a seamless process and everyone was super nice. Will definitely be back and book through trips tripshock.

Check in process was very slow and the lady in the trailer was not as pleasant or as helpful as she could have been.   The guys by the dock were great and very pleasant and guy on a golf cart was do extremely nice and took our items and one of our friends who had trouble walking down to the dock on the golf cart. We chartered a pontoon for a party of 14. Our captain, Anthony, and deck hand., Carolyn, were amazing. They were super friendly and made sure we all had a fun experience. We will definitely book another Crab Island trip with them.

There was a total of 8 of us on July 4th. For how busy it was we were all so thankful for having Anthony and his deckhand Victoria. They were so fun and so easy going. Had a very good knowledge of the area and knew just the perfect spot to go. We would definitely do this again and look forward to coming down to visit again soon.
