How to Redeem: Print this ticket or show the confirmation details from your mobile device for entry. Please have a valid ID with you to confirm your order if needed. It’s highly encouraged that you confirm your reservation at least 24 hours in advance. 
Parking: Paid public parking lots are located within 2 blocks of the boarding location.
Departure Details: Check in with a Royal Carriages Supervisor at 700 Decatur Street, in front of Jackson Square. The supervisor will be found under a red umbrella towards the beginning of the line of carriages. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. Tour departs on time. Any issues, please contact provider, Royal Carriages, at 504-943-8820.
Gratuities: Although not required, it is appreciated and encouraged to tip your tour guide.

Good experience! Lots of history! Driver was quite knowledgeable! Your website needs to be updated whenever changes are made. We spent time looking for a yellow umbrella to get out tickets ( as noted on the website) it’s now changed to “ red”

Carriage Ride

We had a great time! Lofton was an awesome driver with lots of interesting information. My only complaint is the price - I didn’t feel like there was something exceptional to make an hour carriage ride worth $300.

We had an amazing spooky carriage ride through the French Quarter with Royal Carriages.  Emilie had some good stories and information on some of the local haunts and her trusty steed Juneau did a good job of pulling us through the streets.

I booked a private tour for my anniversary. I was told I’d receive a small carriage intimate to set the tone for the occasion. I arrived early as suggested in the booking confirmation. I checked in at 10:15 pm and was told there were no more two person intimate carriages and that I’d have to take a large carriage. 

This ordinary wouldn’t  be a problem but when you book for the special occasion and your guaranteed a specific service to find out what you paid for is unavailable upon showing up is terrible.I could have planned something else. 

Then my tour was only 40 mins long after I pod for a full hour. 


Completely disappointing.

Poor Communication

Our guide/ driver Emily (I believe)      Was fantastic she was so sweet and very informative. Our  donkey Juno was amazing as well! We enjoyed this ride so much and learned so many things about New Orleans and enjoyed the history as well as the ghost stories too! This was the last night of our week in NOLA and she really made our trip complete and ended on a wonderful time !!

Our driver Mike was very knowledgeable and made the tour exciting and fun.  They were ready for us when we arrived. Tripshock needs to update the tour.  At this time you cannot tour the cemetery that is on this tour.

Our tour guide was Jonathon and our mule was Blondie.  They were both amazing!  We decided to splurge on the carriage ride and we are so happy that we did!  You can bring drinks and relax while you take the tour.  It was nice to take a break from walking and we got to see a lot of cool parts of the quarter that we wouldn't have otherwise seen.  JOnathon was very informative and a great story teller.  Our kids loved him! Would highly recommend!

We were so happy to have this access so that we can ride around, then listen to the tour guide and then we can get off and explore but also back on to our hotel. Everyone will benefit from some part of it. The weather was cold but the staff rolls with the changes and has things in place for weather issues, we had the best time. When we go back for us or family, this will be a must.

New Orleans tour

I only had two days in New Orleans and wanted to explore the city as much as possible. I had a particular interest in learning about the impact of Hurricane Katrina. I spent the majority of my time seeing the French Quarter and some of the Garden District before taking this tour, which I truly enjoyed. Unexpectedly, this tour became the highlight of my trip. I so appreciated our guide’s knowledge of the city, the way he led the tour with truth and a sense of humor, and how he explained the devastation to this day due to Katrina as we traveled to different neighborhoods. It was a humbling experience that I feel I learned a lot from. 10/10 recommend

We had an excellent time. We even came back to some of the areas to eat. The food was great! Our tour guide was very fun. He gave us plenty of breaks and answered all the questions we had.

I booked this tour a week and a half in advance. The website advertised an 8:30 till 10:30 tour with hotel pick up if you're staying in the French Quarter. Great! I got a call the day before saying there was no pick up and the tour time was 9:30 till 11:30. I had to call and change dinner reservations and check to see if my hotel had in and out privileges for valet but I decided to stick with it. I'm glad we did. Matthew was AMAZING!! He is super knowledgeable and cracks jokes. He has even more fun facts to share if there are no kids present. The sights were pretty dark so a flashlight would be great but you won't be disappointed. There were a few people in our group that pre-purchased drinks on the website for our stop at Bulldogs. There seemed to have been some complications with the manager but they were able to get their drinks. Apparently it was a first time. Overall super fun and super educational. I would recommend this tour.

My husband and I visited NOLA for the weekend for our anniversary. I found this tour on a web search when I was looking for activities. Tyler was very informative, energetic, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was an awesome experience I would definitely do as a first time visitor or a repeater.
