No, parasailing participants will not take off from the beach, but will take off and land on the back of the parasailing boat. After you’re fitted into your harness, you and your parasailing partner will take a seat on the deck at the back of the boat, and then shoot into the sky using a hydraulic winch system. This safe and secure technique means you won’t have anything to worry about, except making sure to take in the incredible views seen from above.
This will vary from tour company to tour company, so please be sure to review the restrictions prior to booking. Normally, participants must be at least 6 years old to fly, and 18 to book the tour. Depending on the tour company, you will typically be able to choose if you’d like to be dipped in the water at the end of your flight or not. Just be sure to let your captain and deckhand know before they send you soaring up to the clouds! It is recommended to dress as if you were to get wet, as you may get wet or splashed along the way.
