Geography

Perdido Key, Florida is connected on the east by bridge to the city of Pensacola, FL and to the west by a bridge to Orange Beach, Alabama. It is a nearly 30-minute drive to Gulf Shores, AL.

It is also well-known for the Discovery Nature Trail, a raised boardwalk that is roughly half a mile through dunes, pine trees, and salt marsh outlooks. Perdido Key State Park

Perdido Key State Park is a 290-acre Florida State Park with white sand beaches and rolling dunes covered with sea oats. Boardwalks from the parking lot allow visitors to access the beach without causing damage to the fragile dunes and beach vegetation. Covered picnic tables overlooking the beach provide a great place for family outings.

Big Lagoon State Park

Big Lagoon State Park is a gateway that offers swimming, boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and paddling. Natural communities, ranging from saltwater tidal marshes to pine flatwoods, attract a wide variety of birds, especially in Spring.
