How did you discover this activity?

We were interested in deep sea fishing while we were on vacation in Destin. My boyfriend found TripShock after doing a Google search, and we were happy with how easy it was to reserve tickets.

We booked 2 days prior to our trip.

Why did you choose this activity?

My boyfriend had been on a fishing trip before, but never deep sea fishing. I have always enjoyed fishing, and we decided it would be something fun to do together; something neither of us had done, too!

How did you get to the activity location?

The location was only a 7-minute drive from where we were staying.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

We didn’t talk to the captain, but the deckhands were great! They were friendly, super informative, and super helpful. They even filleted our fish for us before going home.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

It was a beautiful day with beautiful weather. I was able to catch two fish at one time, which I was proud of. My boyfriend actually caught a red snapper big enough to keep, but as he was reeling it up, a hungry dolphin stole it AND the 20 pound weight attached to the bottom. Only the head of this fish came up! In total, we caught probably 8 fish, but were only able to keep three, which ended up being plenty.

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

I would recommend this activity. It was a lot of fun, even for me as an eighteen year old female. Make sure if you are prone to motion or sea sickness to bring some medicine. And bring hand sanitizer and towels! This way you can periodically clean your hands.
