The Activity we Experienced
What we chose to do
Greeted by Dancing Birds at Flamingo Gardens
How did you discover this activity?
Searching for gardens near Miami.
When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?
We booked the day prior. We were in town and just looking for something fun to do!
Why did you choose this activity?
My friends and I were looking for a place that we could explore at our own pace because one of our group members was pregnant. We also loved the idea of supporting a nonprofit that was dedicated to conservation.
How did you get to the activity location?
We drove there after visiting the everglades and it was only a short trip from the airboat ride we took in Fort Lauderdale.
What was your experience with the activity’s staff?
Everyone was very passionate and excited about the garden and the animals. You could tell that the people who work and volunteer at the garden really care about the garden’s mission and they were extremely knowledgeable about the plants and animals.
Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?
Our trip started off with dancing peacocks! We had never seen them dance in person and it was so beautiful to watch. We learned that the park rescues and re-releases animals back into the wild after they are rehabilitated. So all of the animals at the park are only there because they could not survive on their own or there because they chose to stay on the grounds despite not being caged.
The plants were incredible and the champion trees (the largest of their kind in Florida) were amazing. There is so much to see and take in at every turn! Its location just outside Miami is very convenient and when you are on the grounds you feel like you are a million miles away from city life.
Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?
Yes, this is a great place for adults and children. The grounds are huge and you could spend the whole day, or just a couple of hours and feel like you got your money’s worth.
