We found TripShock on Google when we were searching for the best fishing deals in Destin.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked a couple days prior to our departure date while driving down.

Why did you choose this activity?

My friend and I enjoy fishing around Arkansas and have always thought a deep sea fishing tour would be a bunch of fun!

How did you get to the activity location?

Getting to the harbor was a quick car ride from our condo.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

Captain Gibson was a no nonsense captain, he didn’t socialize much at all, he kept the boat on top of fish. The rest of the crew were very nice and sociable! I was lucky enough to have Alex and John on my side of the boat, they were splendid!

They worked really hard to untangle lines when others weren’t following directions, or if a dolphin grabbed your fish and took your line across the whole boat of lines (this happened a few times). They filleted our fish how we wanted, and we even cooked some that evening and it was awesome!

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

It was my first time ever on a boat of that size that far out in the ocean, which was so neat. Just the 2.5-hour ride to the first stop was scenic and enjoyable.

The crew gave us pointers for baiting the hooks and using the reel, as well as how to catch fish. We caught several different kinds of fish some were out of season, some were too small, but we got to leave with enough fish for a few dinners, and some great memories!

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

It was an awesome experience to catch fish and then have them filleted for us! It was simple, easy fishing, and fun for all! Alex and John were the best, and we tipped them over the recommended minimum.
