The Activity we Experienced
What we chose to do
My Son Steered the Boat with a Macaw
How did you discover this activity?
I googled different types of cruises in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Alabama and it led me to TripShock. I found the best deal on a dolphin cruise for 2 adults and 3 children on this site!
When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?
I booked only one day before the dolphin cruise.
Why did you choose this activity?
I’ve been on a dolphin cruise twice before but my children had not. I wanted them to enjoy the boat ride and a little history of the area while getting to see a little wildlife/dolphins.
How did you get to the activity location?
The Wharf was only a short car ride from our condo in Gulf Shores. Free parking is available beside the harbor.
What was your experience with the activity’s staff?
The captain and his crew were sure of our safety before leaving the dock. They all keep everyone engaged with music and history of the area along with great fun in finding the dolphins! Feeding the seagulls off the rear of the boat was great fun.
Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?
My son got to steer the boat and Lucy, the Macaw, sat on his arm! He loved it! My 6-year-old saw dolphins jumping in the wake of the boat for the first time. We threw food to seagulls, and they’d catch it mid-air, very cool.
I really loved learning the history the captain was sharing about the Orange Beach area including pirates, orange groves, and many other tidbits. The whole crew was so very friendly and happy!
Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?
Yes, I would recommend this dolphin cruise to a family. The snack bar and restrooms are very convenient. The Captain and his crew were happy and friendly, making for a fun, peaceful cruise.
