The Activity we Experienced
What we chose to do
All of our kids were having a blast, there were a whole bunch of seagulls that started following the boat
How did you discover this activity?
We were searching for sunset dolphin tours on Google in Gulf Shores & found this one close to where we were staying in Fort Morgan.
When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?
We booked our tour the day before then we ended up rescheduling for the next evening due to the rain.
Why did you choose this activity?
We were looking for a fun activity that the whole family could enjoy together. With there being 14 of us it was hard finding something that would accommodate all of us at once.
How did you get to the activity location?
Getting to the harbor was a quick & easy drive from our beach house.
What was your experience with the activity’s staff?
Our captain was super friendly & personable. He had a lot of knowledge about the dolphins & made us all laugh. He was especially great with all the kids.
Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?
We were all prepared to just take a pretty sunset boat ride. But it was so much more than that. We were seeing dolphins before we even got out of the no-wake zone. Then they just kept showing up, even seeing several mommas with babies. The captain knew all their names & lots of fun information about all of them. Once we got going the captain made waves behind the boat that the dolphins were riding which was super cool! All of our kids were having a blast, (even the grown-up ones!) There were a whole bunch of seagulls that started following the boat. So the captain got out some Cheetos & handed them out. If you held up a Cheeto, the birds would swoop in & grab the Cheeto from you. This had the kids really laughing & cheering. Then the captain invited kids to sit in his chair & “drive” the boat. Complete with captains hat & all. To top it off they got to hold the captain’s parrot & then the parrot even did some fun dancing for them. They had snacks & drinks available but you could also bring your own cooler if you wanted. The whole experience, from last-minute booking, rescheduling for the rain (at my request), the smooth fun boat ride, beautiful sunset & water, fun & entertaining crew, so many dolphins, dancing parrot, kids driving, made the whole experience one that we would definitely repeat. If you are looking for an affordable activity for just one, a couple, or your whole family this is one you don’t want to miss.
Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?
I would recommend the Sunnylady Dolphin tours to pretty much everybody. Little kids, grown-up kids & grandparents of our group all had an amazing time. They have lifejackets available (kids under 7 were required to wear them) & there was even a lady in a wheelchair on our tour, so they obviously accommodate everyone.
